There are those who can and those who can't

write their own now hear me rant

so many so-called musos put down those who do

but without them they'd be struck dumb

so give credit where credit's due

imitation is not the sincerest form of flattery

it's the worst way of stealing

steal my thoughts you steal my soul

I hope you all burn in hell with your double-dealing

if you're content to walk in the footsteps of others

forever a copy artist playing only covers

cover this all you cover bands there aren't so many chords

cover this if you can there aren't too many words

I'll keep it simple nice and easy

for those three-chord copycats they're so lazy

so many 'musicians' put down those who can

but without them they'd have nothing to play

in their pitiful little cover bands
