thence to England

before independence deprived

suffered the worst winter

in living memory

whence to South Africa

(The Beatles were banned)

subject to apartheid contrived

hence departed ASAP

to Germany

(The Beatles in Hamburg)

sense returned us to the U.K.

(The Beatles thrived)

played in many a London band

at the Roundhouse, Marquee, Cavern, Pheasantry and BBC

the best of the sixties undoubtedly for me

hindsight being twenty-twenty
