When The Music's Over

What's a drummer to do

what is there left to say

when the music's over

there's no more songs to play

with emptiness within the silence is deafening

as the curtain has come down

the audience all gone home

the group is leaving town

but pack up the drums

load them in the car

look for yet another gig

in the hopes one day he'll be a star

fifteen minutes of fame

a brief moment in the sun

when everyone knows his name

and altho' no one admits it

at each and every one-night stand

he's the pulse the heart and soul

the backbone of the band
